Cascadia is a 501(c)3 nonprofit with a board. The Cascadia board is comprised of a diverse group of members which includes current, former parents/guardians, and alumni.
The board supports school leadership and has a fiduciary responsibility to ensure that Cascadia is here for future generations. Read Cascadia's 2021 Strategic Plan here.
Board meetings are open to the community and held every other month.

Committees are an integral part of the Cascadia community! Our committees of parents & board members plan and organize events, work on equity, diversity & inclusion, fundraise, clean-up, maintain the school building and property, and help plan for the future.

Tranquility Nature Area
In 2022, Cascadia School adopted the Tranquility Nature Area, an undeveloped nature site next door. Tranquility is the beloved greenspace and forest classroom of Cascadia students, and often used for lessons, games, recess and nature walks. Students and families participate in clean-ups of litter and invasive species throughout the year.
Cedar Mural at Burnt Bridge Creek Trail
In 2020, Cascadia’s middle school created a mural below the 87th Avenue underpass on the Burnt Bridge Creek Trail. The class continues to tour up the mural at least yearly. This ongoing class project provides a constructive public art experience for the students, helping them feel a sense of stewardship for this public space, and adds to the safety and beauty of the trail.
You can read more about the mural in this blogpost,
What is the Cedar Mural?
Cascadia Neighborhood Library
Our take-a-book, leave-a-book library was built and installed by a staff member in April 2020. This pandemic project aimed to support our neighbors and families by providing a space to share books. To this day it is a wonderful community resource.
Cascadia Resilience Garden
These three raised beds were built in Fall 2021 by a Cascadia Alum as his Eagle Scout project, and is planted and maintained by Cascadia students. The goal of the garden is to provide access to healthy food for the neighboring community as well as opportunities for Cascadia students to learn how to grow and care for the plants.
